A Data Science Central Community
Narrative Science, the leader in advanced natural language generation (Advanced NLG) for the enterprise, today announced availability of Narratives for Power BI, a first-of-its-kind extension for the Microsoft Power BI community. The extension, now available for download, allows users to access important insights from their data in the most intuitive, consumable way possible -- dynamic, natural language narratives. Now all users, regardless of skillset, can quickly understand the insights from any data set or visualization, simply by reading them.
"The combination of NLG with automated pattern detection and self-service data preparation has the potential to drive the user experience of next-generation smart data discovery platforms, and expand the benefits of advanced analytics to a wider audience of business users and citizen data scientists," stated Gartner, Inc. in Hype Cycle for Business Intelligence and Analytics, August 4, 2015.
Narratives for Power BI delivers natural language insights that are fueled by advanced analytics and customizable features, such as the vocabulary, verbosity and format of the narrative. The collaboration enables millions of users to automatically transform all of their data into data-driven stories, as Microsoft Power BI integrates with more than 50 data sources including Salesforce, Github and Adobe Analytics.
"Our vision of modern business intelligence includes making powerful analytics and data visualization easily accessible to everyone," said Nick Caldwell, General Manager of Microsoft Power BI. "Our collaboration with Narrative Science aligns very well to this goal. Integrating Advanced NLG into Microsoft Power BI enables our customers to automatically turn complex data into insightful stories."
